Summer flowers for all occasions.

Summer flowers for all occasions.

Fresh flowers are beautiful and adored all year round, but some flowers are more easily found during certain seasons than others. We asked for AI overview on which Summer flowers are the most popular choices, and here is what we received:

“Summer flowers, with their vibrant colors and captivating scents, are a joy to behold. Sunflowers, zinnias, marigolds, and coneflowers are just a few examples of the many blooms that brighten gardens and homes during the summer months. These flowers not only add visual appeal but also attract beneficial pollinators like bees and butterflies. Popular Summer Flowers:

1. Sunflowers. These cheerful, towering blooms are a classic symbol of summer, known for their large, round flower heads that follow the sun.

2. Zinnias. Available in a wide array of colors and sizes, zinnias are easy to grow and provide continuous blooms throughout the summer.

3. Marigolds. With their bright orange and yellow hues, marigolds are a popular choice for borders and containers, also known for their ability to deter pests. 4. Coneflowers. These daisy-like flowers, with their distinctive raised centers, are a favorite among butterflies and come in various colors.

5. Petunias. These versatile flowers thrive in containers and hanging baskets, offering a profusion of blooms in a wide range of colors.

So we thought “Great, these are some of the favorite flowers that bloom during the summer season, but not all of those can be used in floral arrangements. So we looked up for the guidance from FSN, and here is what flowers they have listed in their "In Bloom" blog by Dani James:

Great. But which of the flowers are the most sustainable to the Texas heat? Not all the flowers can handle transportation, and higher than 72 degrees temperatures that well. Here in Dallas TX we are hydrating the flowers well before they are taken for deliveries, and advise not to place your arrangements in direct sun, keep away from AC and heaters, and away from any smoke. Here is our list of summer flowers that both look great and last longer in the proper care.

  1. Roses. They come in a variety of colors, and without even a few roses, the arrangement is just not the same.

  2. Hydrangeas. They love water. Make sure their stems are cut at the angle, and have a split in the middle. This will bring more water to their heads. If your hydrangeas get slightly wilted looking, emerge the entire floral head into the water, shake the water excess, make a fresh stem cut, wrap the floral head into plastic, and place into your fridge overnight with plenty of water to drink. Make sure not to get the temperature lower than 38 degrees. Your blooms should perk back up.

  3. Peonies. Not only gorgeous, but pretty sturdy flowers that are available here in Texas May through July. And what great flowers to enjoy!

  4. Alstroemeria. Many times alstroemeria was a life saver for so many florists and their clients, and it’s a great supporting flower in summer time.

  5. Sunflowers. Do you know that sunflowers are not considered flowers in many countries? Here in the USA they are used a lot though, and if you like bold bright colors with big heads, sunflowers are your pick for the Texas summer.

  6. Zinnias. We get them closer to July and August, and they are sturdy flowers that also come in many bright colors.

  7. Orchids. Orchids are very appreciative and gorgeous flowers to be used in floral arrangements.

  8. Stock. Available all year round, stock has captivating fragrance, and also comes in so many colors, from white to dark purple.

  9. Snapdragons. This flower also comes in many colors, and is great flower to use in summer arrangements.

  10. Lilies. They come in so many varieties and colors, and very sustainable and long lasting flowers to use in fresh floral arrangements. These, are the summer flowers that come in many summer colors, and are used a lot in our shop, as well as in many Texas flowers shops.
